The Jeremy Miller Racing team was glad it was time for the Aaron's 212
at
O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis. Jeremy and the crew
were ready to be at the track again with the
USAR Hooters Pro Cup series. The team got the car through
tech inspection and got on the track for practice right away.
Jeremy worked on getting the right setup under the car throughout the
morning. As his lap times started to fall, he decided to put on
fresh tires and see how good the car would be for qualifying.

Jeremy worked hard to get the #18 Chevrolet Monte Carlo comfortable
for race conditions
"That's a lot more grip!" Jeremy said
over the radio. He easily picked up a couple tenths and felt
good about the car. At the end of practice, he wasn't as high as
he wanted to be on the speed charts. So Jeremy decided to make a
few more small adjustments before qualifying. Unfortunately,
those adjustments did not help as the car was too loose. "It
felt like if I got on it anymore it would have just went around," he
said after qualifying. This put him back in the 29th starting
position. He would have his work cut out for him in the 212 lap
race.

When the race started, the race car
continued to be too loose as the track was still hot. "I was
hoping it was going to cool down more and tighten up the car," Jeremy
said. He came in at each caution to adjust on the car, but the
tires were going away fast. Finally, close to the halfway mark
Jeremy caught a timely caution and came in for fresh right side tires.
The tires and adjustments helped as the team soldiered on to the end.
With less than 30 laps to go Jeremy radioed in that the tires were
junk. "I'm just going to ride it out," he said.
At the end of the night, Jeremy
crossed the finish line in the 19th position. He had picked up
10 positions with a very ill handling race car. Later in the
evening, he would be bumped up to the 18th finishing position as
another car was disqualified in post race tech.
Once again Jeremy Miller Racing would
like to thank the sponsors who have helped out this year.
Without them, no races would have been possible this season.
Ceco Building Systems,
Schaus-Vorhies Contracting,
GETT Industries,
InvisibleGlass.com and Rod Miller Construction have all
contributed greatly to Jeremy's 2006 racing season.
