– Jeremy Miller Racing headed to
Kil-Kare Speedway in
Xenia, OH
knowing the weather forecast didn’t look good. Sure enough the team
arrived at the track Friday morning and sat through wet conditions all
day.
USAR made the call to postpone the race to Saturday afternoon and
set the lineup by points. This put Jeremy back in the 24th
starting position. Not where he wanted to be on a 3/8 mile track.
On Saturday
Jeremy practiced and didn’t take long to get the car feeling
comfortable. With no qualifying, he decided to practice on old tires
to make the car ready for later race conditions. With other teams
putting on new tires, Jeremy stuck around 20th on the speed
charts but obviously had a good handling car that could get the job
done.

Once the race
started trouble found Jeremy quickly. Shortly into the race he had
worked himself up to the 18th position when a car spun in front of
him. Jeremy got slowed down but was in a pack of cars and got turned
into the front stretch wall. At that point another car backed into
his left rear corner causing a lot of body damage. The team decided
to pit then changing right side tires and fueling the car. Under the
next caution, Jeremy had to stop again to get some of the sheet metal
pulled away from the rear tires. At that point the car was still
handling well and Jeremy continued on.
A few laps
later, Jeremy drove too hard into turn one. He had to spin the car in
order to avoid taking out another car. “It was either that or take
out the 75,” Jeremy said, “so I just spun it.”

Jeremy continued to race unaffected
by the damage from an early incident
Just after the
halfway point another car turned Jeremy into the outside wall. The
wreck ended up involving five cars and put Jeremy out of the race.
This was the final blow and put the #18 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in 25th
finishing place. The entire team wants to thank the sponsors
Ceco Building Systems,
Schaus-Vorhies Contracting and
Invisible Glass. Everyone wishes it could have been a
better weekend for them.
