Another
Hooters Pro Cup Northern Division race was greeted with rain on
Saturday. "Wait a minute, haven't I heard this story before?"
Yes, you have, but this time it was at
Jennerstown, PA for the running
of the
Naturally Fresh 250. Jeremy and his crew arrived
full of hope for not just getting into the race, but also getting the
race in on the scheduled date.

Some of the crew wonders if the rain
will ever stop
Practice did finally get underway
well after the originally scheduled time. Teams were able to
take to the track for well over an hour. Jeremy worked
persistently at getting the car feeling good. He was able to
pick up his lap times on almost every practice run. "The car
felt better than it ever has," Jeremy said after climbing out of the
car. Much to his disappointment, Jeremy was listed only 28th
fast on the charts with a time of 19.657 which came just a few laps
before practice ended. Once again, USAR officials decided to cut
qualifying down to just one lap to try to get through the evening
quickly.

The crew works on getting the car ready for qualifying technical
inspection Jeremy was once
again ready for qualifying as he ran his single lap in 19.556 seconds.
He had run fast enough to be in the field for the evening's race.
However, with only a few cars left to qualify, the rains came once
again. Many attempts were made to dry the track, but rain
showers kept popping up. Eventually, USAR officials had to make the call to line the
field up by points. This relegated Jeremy to the 28th starting
position for the Naturally Fresh 250.

Sorry, but this photographer just couldn't get any good race pictures!
The race finally got underway very late
in the evening. The first 65 laps were run under caution as it
was the only way to get enough heat to dry the track. Once the
green flag fell, Jeremy ran strong throughout the whole evening.
He was held up a few times by some slower cars throughout the night,
but maintained his patience to be sure he saw the checkered flag.
Unfortunately, in the later stages of the race there was a big wreck
in turn three which would lead to a red flag situation. Without
warning of the accident, Jeremy rear ended the car in front of him
slowing on the back stretch. The car was only hurt cosmetically
and was able to continue on to the checkered flag finishing in the
19th position. Jennerstown produced another good top 20 finish
for Jeremy and more valuable seat time.
Jeremy and his family really want to
thank all those who helped out this weekend at Jennerstown Speedway.
Everyone gave up their day for a rain filled race weekend and gave us
more help than they will ever know.
