Jeremy took his #18
Hooters Pro Cup Chevrolet Monte Carlo to
Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, IA on Saturday. The
main objective of the trip was a shake down test to be sure the car
was ready to go for the first race of 2005. Jeremy would share
the track with quite a few Cedar Rapids racers preparing for their
weekly racing season as well.
Jeremy started the day slowly.
He took time during two practice runs to be sure everything with the
car and engine was ok and ready for racing. The car had a setup
in it for a similar track, but not actually for Hawkeye Downs
Speedway. A few small changes were made to see how the car
reacted.
After making sure everything was okay
with the car, Jeremy made two more harder runs to push the car.
He found that the off season changes to the car did make it feel more
stable. Throughout the day it was evident that his seat time
over last season had helped him drive the car harder, even without the
proper track setup. Overall the day went very well. The
car looked good and no problems were found. Jeremy now looks to
start the 2005 Hooters Pro Cup Northern Division season soon.
Final plans will be made early in the coming week.
