August 20, 2005 - Jeremy Miller and his crew came to Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville, IN hoping to have a good finish in the next to last race of the 2005 USAR Hooters Pro Cup Northern Division schedule.  The Bakker Produce 250 presented by Greased Lightning would end up being a very good run for Jeremy.

Jeremy took to practice on the half mile race track and soon found that he was going to have to fight with a tight race car.  Throughout the day Jeremy worked to try to make the car better and just couldn't make any progress.  Finally, toward the end of the two hour practice session, the changes started to work.  Jeremy put on a fresh set of tires and made his mock qualifying run.  He posted a time of 21.094 seconds that put him 17th on the speed charts.  However, he still was not very happy with the car.

Jeremy made more changes before qualifying which did help.  He ran just slightly quicker at 21.059 seconds and would start the evening's race in the 19th position.

Jeremy started the race and ran very well right from the start.  While being patient, Jeremy slowly passed his way up through the field and stayed in the top 20 all night.  Around the halfway point in the race, Jeremy stopped for fuel during a caution.  He then decided he wanted to stop for tires on the next caution and be ready to finish out the race.

Unfortunately, fading brakes were causing problems for Jeremy and a few laps after going green he spun in turn 2 to bring out that next caution.  "I was having to pump the brakes before entering the corner each time," Jeremy said, "I went in too hard, then braked too hard trying to slow down and just spun around."  The team stuck to the plan and changed his right side tires.

Jeremy worked his way up to the 11th position.  Close to the end of the race, Jeremy would spin once again.  A car six laps behind Jeremy turned him around in turns 3 & 4.  The caution came out and he got going without losing a position.  Jeremy then ran to the checkered flag collecting the 11th position at the end of the night.

The weekend went very well for Jeremy.  It was a great turn around after motor problems at Salem Speedway.  Jeremy now plans to attend the last race of the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Northern Division schedule in Madison, WI.
