Kil-Kare Speedway in Xenia, OH was host to the
BFGoodrichTires.com 250 on Friday night. Jeremy and his team
came to the small 3/8 mile track with high hopes of a strong
performance. Once through the first tech inspection of the day,
practice got underway and Jeremy was ready to go.
He got on track as quickly as possible
and found that the car wasn't too bad. Throughout the day he
made changes with the track bar, but left everything else alone.
On old tires, Jeremy was practicing with speeds keeping him in the top
20. When he felt the car was as good as it could be, he put on
new tires and headed out to make his mock qualifying run. He
posted a time of 14.190 seconds which would end up 11th quick out of
39 cars at the end of the day. Jeremy was happy enough with the
car to park it for the final half hour
of practice.

tech inspection
The crew went over the car prior to
pre-qualifying tech inspection and discovered it was bottoming
out badly. Jeremy decided he needed to raise the left side of
the car to avoid serious problems during the race. While the
solution did keep the car from bottoming out, it also caused the car
to loosen up. Jeremy ran a qualifying time of 14.331. This
lined him up 14th for the start of the race. "It was loose,"
Jeremy said, "I just couldn't get on it like I wanted to on the back
stretch." Although disappointed he wasn't in the top 10,
Jeremy was solidly in the field for the evening's race.

Jeremy signs autographs prior to
starting the BFGoodrichTires.com 250
There was little time to stay disappointed
as the race was on. Jeremy got right to speed and ran well while
trying to be cautious in the first few laps of the race. At one
point, he found himself down to the 19th position. Then his
spotter started telling him who he needed to pass for position.
Jeremy picked cars off one by one passing himself steadily up to the
14th position. After a very long green flag run the caution
finally came out. Jeremy came into the pits with just about 50
laps to go for new right side tires. Unfortunately, while
leaving the very tight pit road he ran the pit road stop sign.
"They must have turned the sign just as I was going by. It was
close," Jeremy said. However, rules are rules and Jeremy was
issued a one lap penalty that put him to the end of the running field.
Jeremy would once again see the checkered flags, but he was back to
the 21st finishing position.

"It was a good weekend and a good race
for us," Jeremy commented, "but just not a good finish." Jeremy
will work on pulling all these together as he progresses in his second
season of
USAR Hooters Pro Cup racing. Jeremy Miller Racing plans on
next competing at
Salem Speedway in Salem, IN on July 30th. Check back to
