| July 2, 2004 - Jeremy headed out to his third
USAR Hooters Pro Cup race of the year. The destination was
Kil-Kare Speedway in Xenia, OH. The 3/8 mile, 3 turn track
would prove to be a challenge for many drivers.
Jeremy took right to
the track for practice and looked very good from the start.
Unfortunately, there was some smoke coming from the exhaust.
Although the motor was not having any performance problems, USAR
officials told Jeremy to keep an eye on the problem. The car's
strength was evident as Jeremy posted the 17th fastest time in final
practice at 14.624 seconds. Jeremy made changes to the car
throughout the day.

Jeremy was sixth in line for qualifying. He made a very smooth
qualifying run. However, he was not happy at all with his laps.
He felt the final changes for the car made it too loose. Jeremy
qualified in the 22nd position with a time of 14.771, slower than his
quick practice time.

Jeremy started the race and ran well. Unfortunately, the
exhaust smoke problem continued and USAR officials black flagged Jeremy
as they felt the smoke was distracting to the other drivers. The
crew showed an official that there was no fluids leaking and they let
him return to the track for a few laps until they pulled him back in for
the evening. This put Jeremy in the 23rd finishing position.
Jeremy was disappointed to fall out of the race, but understood the
officials' point of view.
Jeremy looks next to race some local dirt track races. He will
also look to fix the problems with his Chevrolet Monte Carlo in hopes of
next competing at
Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, OH on July 31st.
