October 11, 2003 - Jeremy headed to Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, IA for the Marines.com 1/4 Mile Challenge Cup hoping for good results.  He was unable to go to the open practice on Friday night, so Saturday started out with an urgent need to practice and make the right adjustments to the car.

Practice went very well.  Jeremy was able to make three different practice runs.  He called for adjustments after each practice session which made the car better every time.

The typical "Jeremy draw" started him last in his heat race, which would qualify only the top two into Sunday's feature race.  He ran very well in the heat race.  Unfortunately, another car spun in front of him and Jeremy could not avoid a collision.  The left front suspension was damaged too much to proceed and ended Jeremy's weekend.

The next local race is the annual Shiverfest at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, IA on October 25th.  Jeremy will determine if he will fix the car to race that weekend as planned.
